The pattern on this gorgeous umbrella is adapted from the distinctive ceiling design of the . The design of the plaster ceiling features farm tools in each of the four quadrants--a pick and shovel; crossed scythes; a rake, spade, and two-tined fork; and a sickle and sheath of wheat, the principal crop grown at Mount Vernon. The lovely plaster festoons in the cove of the ceiling, which form the border of the black, gold, gray and white umbrella, are typical of the period.
With the push of a button the umbrella provides 46" of rain protection. Umbrella is 33" long with curved wood handle and metal shaft and spokes.
