Victorian (1837-1901) angel skin coral cameo brooch set in silver and gold. Angel skin coral is considered one of the most desirable corals due to its delicate hues of pink and white. The cameo features a lady wearing a necklace with a bezel silver setting and a decorative woven yellow gold setting. The back of the brooch is closed with an open 'c' clasp. In the early 19th century cameos features Roman women. Victorian women on the Grand Tour brought home these pieces from places such as Italy and Greece.
The gold and silver are not hallmarked, they are most likely a high quality of gold.
